Interleukin 18 and interleukin 22 as important immune markers in patients with tuberculosis

چکیده

Tuberculosis (TB) is a lung infection caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB). TB leading cause of death globally, accounting for approximately 1.5 million deaths per year. The aim this article was to evaluate immunological role Interleukin (IL) 18 and 22 in patients infected with MTB multi-drug resistant MDRTB. A total 182 individuals suspected admitted center AL-Najaf City, Iraq. sputum acid-fast stain performed each individual GeneXpert® heminested real time PCR has been MDRTB detection. two Interleukins measurement serum using ELISA technique. Out individuals, there were 20 15 Serum IL18 IL22 levels significantly elevated (P<0.05) groups as compared control subjects. group showed higher than group. This study that had relationship might be used help diagnose TB; Clinical diagnosis may aided these tests.

Wrestlers’ immune cells produce higher interleukin-6 and lower interleukin-12 and interleukin-13 in response toin vitro mitogen activation

Objective(s):Although recent investigations have shown chronic inflammation and inflammation-associated diseases might be ameliorated by exercise; little is known about the relation between exercise training with anti/pro-inflammatory cytokines. Materials and Methods: This cross sectional study was conducted to compare interleukin-4 (IL-4), IL-6, IL-10, IL-12, IL-13, interferon gamma (IFN-γ) le...

Interleukin 18 (IL-18) as a target for immune intervention.

Interleukin 18 (IL-18) is a pleiotropic cytokine involved in the regulation of innate and acquired immune response. In the milieu of IL-12 or IL-15, IL-18 is a potent inducer of IFN-gamma in natural killer (NK) cells and CD4 T helper (Th) 1 lymphocytes. However, IL-18 also modulates Th2 and Th17 cell responses, as well as the activity of CD8 cytotoxic cells and neutrophils, in a host microenvir...

Evaluation of Interleukin17and Interleukin 23 expression in patients with active and latent tuberculosis infection

Objective(s): Tuberculosis is one of the most important infectious diseases with high mortality rates worldwide, especially in developing countries. Interleukin17 (IL-17) is an important acquired immunity cytokine, which is mainly produced by CD4+TH17 cells. It can recruit neutrophils and macrophages to the infected site in the lungs. IL-23 is one of the most important inducers of IL-17. In the...

Production of interleukin-18 in human tuberculosis.

To investigate the role of interleukin (IL)-18 in human tuberculosis, IL-18 production was evaluated in blood and at the site of disease in patients with tuberculosis. Mycobacterium tuberculosis-stimulated peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) from tuberculosis patients secreted less IL-18 and interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) than did PBMC from healthy persons reactive to tuberculin. M. tubercu...

The Role of Interleukin (IL-22) in immune response to human diseases

Background and aims: IL-22 is an alpha- helical cytokine. IL-22 binds to a heterodimeric cell surface receptor composed of IL-10R2 and IL-22R1subunits. IL-22R is expressed on tissue cells, and it is absent on immune cells. L-22 and IL-10 receptor chains play a role in cellular targeting and signal transduction to selectively initiate and regulate immune responses. The aim of this study was to i...
